Situation Analysis

Accelerated Marketing Partners enlisted Quinn & Co. Public Relationsto take the Boston-based real estate marketing firm national and build nationwide awareness and credibility. Since real estate is largely local news, obtaining national exposure for a real estate client is extremely difficult.

Auction-by-Auction Strategy

Our strategy was to use the auction portion of AMP’s business to build nationwide awareness for the company, auction-by-auction, city-by-city. As falling real estate prices made national headlines, we bet that a real estate PR campaign based on AMP’s auctions would be of interest to media and consumers. In 2008, we launched local media campaigns for 31 AMP auctions in small towns and big cities, from Massachusetts to California.

At each auction, we:

  • Found and utilized local and national housing market statistics to support our compelling message;
  • Crafted trend stories from what we were seeing at individual auctions;
  • Uncovered and pitched a number of “firsts;”
  • Offered exclusives to the top newspaper in each city;
  • Reeled in broadcast media in addition to print coverage.

Media Results

The 2008 campaign garnered more than 150 media placements for Accelerated Marketing Partners. We secured:

  • 15 COVER stories in major newspapers around the country;
  • TWO New York Times interior COVER stories (Metro & Escapes)
  • Financial Times COVER story (House & Home);
  • FOUR total New York Times placements (including the two interior covers);
  • TWO Wall Street Journal placements, including a feature on AMP and auctions;
  • EIGHT Boston Globe placements/features;
  • NBC’s The Today Show feature segment (over 2 minutes);
  • NPR segment (3 minutes);
  • ABC Nightline segment (7 minutes);
  • And many more!
