It’s easy to fall in love with a neighborhood in New York. And given the high cost of housing, it’s common to realize that you can’t afford the home you want in the neighborhood you love.

hrough even the recession, local home prices in most Manhattan neighborhoods and some borough corners have seen steady increases. Smart buyers make money by investing in smart neighborhoods.

The photographs and videos on display show the artist building his own island by filling bags with sand and dragging them into the Baltic Sea in “It’s My Island,” which was most recently displayed at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

The sale reflects not only the continuing demand for ultraluxury penthouses, but also the resurgence of a building that had seen some rough early days.

The most expensive homes in the neighborhood are found west of Third Avenue, but a number of luxury buildings have also recently begun to open in the eastern portion of Lenox Hill.

With so many luxurious amenity packages, nowadays it seems many high-end buildings are more like luxury hotels, complete with concierge services, lounges, fitness centers and now even spas.
